It says that "You may encounter permissions issues when trying to access VirtualBox shared folder on Ubuntu (or other Linux distros). I was just doing some digging, and I found this post: If I could retitle my post, it would be "Can't write to Kali guest shared folder."
I assumed that was because of the ownership and permissions of the folder, but maybe I'm wrong.
The issue I'm having is that I can't write to my shared folder from the Kali guest. I guess the title of my post isn't really conveying the problem I'm trying to solve. In particular there is no Linux filesystem behind that list of files, so expecting complex permissions to apply would be incorrect. I can access the shared folder, read the contents, and open files, but I can't modify the files or copy new files into the folder from within the Kali guest. I'm having some trouble getting a shared folder set up within a Kali guest.
